Atlantics THE ATLANTICS
Unquestionably Australia’s premier rock instrumental band, The Atlantics rose to fame in 1963 with the #1 surf music hit Bombora, followed by a series of top selling 45s and LPs. Forty-three years later, the group is still pumping out their thunderous sound as both a live ensemble and as a recording unit!

LES GREEN of THE DENVERMEN
Lead guitarist Les Green was responsible (uncredited), with producer Johnny Devlin, for penning The Denvermen’s signature tune Surfside, an Australian original that beat such overseas surf music classics as Pipeline (The Chantays) and Wipe Out (The Surfaris) to the top of the Australian charts in 1963.

TIM GAZE
As a renowned and much sought after guitarist, Tim Gaze has been plucking strings since his early teens. As a result, the list of bands that have benefited from his musical input exemplifies the dichotomy of the Australian music industry. As the lead guitarist of Tamam Shud and The Tim Gaze Band, his “surf” music credentials are known to many.

PETER HOWE
It was from a lyric in surfer musician Peter Howe’s tune I’m Alive that the DELIGHTFUL RAIN project acquired its name. The tune, as performed by Peter, was featured on the award winning soundtrack LP to Alby Falzon’s 1972 surf movie classic MORNING OF THE EARTH. Peter is still surfing and creating music.
